The Arts Company annual January exhibition previewing Of Things To Come in the New Year opens January 6 during First Saturday Art Crawl Downtown; continuing through January 25 during regular gallery hours, 11am-5pm, Tuesday-Saturday.
A wide range of photography, paintings, mixed media, and sculpture will dominate the first three months of the year. Following that, special guest curators will be announced for exhibits to be added to The Arts Company 2018 portfolio. “A signature concept of The Arts Company is to offer eclectic exhibitions in photography, painting, sculpture, outsider/folk art, mixed media, focusing on unlikely pairings of art, artists, and ideas,” remarks Anne Brown, owner of the gallery, continuing, “As always, we offer places to sit, lots of fresh art to see, and a neat staff of people to talk with about your art of choice. We welcome people from around the world to our lively collection of art, presented in a contemporary environment in a historic building in the center of Downtown Nashville." The January preview will feature never-before-exhibited vintage photographs by legendary LIFE photographer Ed Clark of Jackie Kennedy redecorating the White House in 1961. Also offered will be debuts of art and artists new to the gallery. In 2018, selected guest curators will be invited to organize exhibits, presenting their tastes and backgrounds to bring more diversity and to highlight the collaborative commitment of the gallery to offer other points of view as new curatorial perspectives are available.
